Coconut isn’t just for tropical drinks (although I add it to nearly every mocktail or cocktail I whip up), it’s a total game-changer in both hair and skincare. RICH in fatty acids and antioxidants, coconut oil deeply nourishes and hydrates dry, damaged hair, leaving it soft, shiny, and way more manageable. It helps reduce protein loss (which is key if you color or heat-style your hair) and can even soothe a dry, flaky scalp thanks to its natural antimicrobial properties.

Translation? Coconut is your new bestie if you want healthier hair from ROOT to ENDS. Here's a list of ways for ya to add coconut to your hair care routine:

  1. Coconut Oil Hair Mask – Use once a week for deep moisture and shine.

  2. Coconut-Based Shampoo & Conditioner – Look for sulfate-free formulas with coconut oil or coconut milk.

  3. Leave-In Conditioner or Detangler – Adds hydration and helps tame frizz.

  4. Scalp Massage with Warm Coconut Oil – Soothes dryness and promotes circulation.

  5. Coconut Curl Cream or Styling Balm – Perfect for defining waves and curls without stiffness.

In skincare, coconut oil and coconut-derived ingredients work wonders for dry or sensitive skin. Coming from a girly that has dealt with eczema off & on throughout her life, coconut has low-key saved my skin. Their oils naturally antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, which makes them great for calming irritation and fighting breakouts without stripping your skin. Plus, they lock in moisture like a dream—leaving your skin feeling silky, not greasy. Whether it’s a nourishing body lotion, a glow-boosting cleanser, or a luscious hair mask, coconut is your go-to for that effortless, sun-kissed glow.

Here are some ways to work coconut into your skincare routine:

  1. Coconut Oil Makeup Remover – Melts away even waterproof makeup naturally.

  2. Coconut Sugar Body Scrub – DIY or store-bought, it exfoliates and hydrates at once.

  3. Coconut Oil Moisturizer – Great for dry areas like elbows, knees, and cuticles.

  4. Lip Balm with Coconut Oil – Locks in moisture and smells amazing.

  5. Coconut-Infused Face Masks – Soothing and glow-boosting for sensitive skin.

Coconut isn’t just for your hair and skin—it can totally upgrade your oral hygiene game too. One of the most popular methods is oil pulling, an ancient practice that involves swishing a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth for 5–10 minutes to help draw out toxins, reduce bacteria, and freshen breath naturally. Thanks to its antimicrobial properties, coconut oil can support gum health, help prevent plaque buildup, and even soothe inflammation. There are also coconut oil-based toothpastes and mouth rinses that offer a gentler, fluoride-free option for those looking to keep their smile clean and naturally bright. It’s a simple step that can make your whole beauty routine feel more holistic—from the inside out.If you were wanting to incorporate coconut into your oral hygiene routine, you could try these...

  1. Oil Pulling with Coconut Oil – Swish for 5–10 minutes to support gum health and fresher breath.

  2. Coconut Oil-Based Toothpaste – Gentle, natural, and often combined with baking soda.

  3. DIY Coconut Mouth Rinse – Mix coconut oil with peppermint or tea tree oil for a natural rinse.

And let’s not forget the beauty benefits of sipping on coconut water. This tropical hydrator is packed with electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals that help keep your skin glowing from the inside out. It supports hydration, flushes out toxins, and can even help reduce puffiness and promote clearer skin thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties. Think of it as your daily dose of glow in a bottle—perfect for busy, sun-soaked days when you need a little refresh from the inside out.

Here are some easy ways to add coconut to your drinks & food...

  1. Coconut Water – Hydrating and packed with electrolytes (a skin glow secret!).
